Which education should I choose

Working with people and helping others is a great profession that many people find themselves wanting to do at some point in their lives. Massage or muscle therapy is one of many ways to help others and experience the energy and positivity you get from it. It’s important to decide how you want to help and what you want to help with. Whichever way you choose to go, it’s important to have the right knowledge to be able to help properly.

The human body is amazing and has many intricacies, which is why it takes time to learn to understand it. If you want to give treatments, you need to choose what kind you want to give. If it’s a relaxing one, which can be great for stressed people, or if you want to help people with muscular problems, such as sports injuries, tension due to poor posture, etc. there is a big difference in the knowledge you need. If it’s muscular problems that interest you, you obviously need to know a lot about the body and muscles. To be able to help in the best possible way, it’s important to be able to look at the body as a whole, as problems elsewhere in the body can also manifest as muscle pain. This means that there are many aspects to work from, and it requires a great deal of theoretical knowledge to be able to do this.

When choosing your education, it’s also important to look at the education requirements for different jobs. If you want to be a massage therapist as your main profession, it makes sense to be exempt from VAT on your treatments, as you will earn much more. It can also be a good idea to become a Registered Alternative Practitioner (RAB) as only these practitioners are covered by health insurance. To meet these requirements, you must have at least 660 hours of education which very few programs meet, but if you take a Musculupat education with us, you meet all requirements from both SKAT and RAB.

If you’re not sure what you want to do with your education, you can always start by becoming a Physician Certified Physiurgical or Sports Massage Therapist, and if you wish, you can later study further to become a Musculupat and get credit. Being medically qualified means that the masseur is trained by a doctor who has approved the training, and at the same time gives customers who book treatment peace of mind that the therapist is trained. A masseur is not a protected title and anyone can call themselves a masseur, but you can ONLY call yourself medically qualified if you are. Musculupat, on the other hand, is a trademarked title and can only be used by those who have this training.

It can be a jungle to navigate, so if you have any doubts or questions, we are ready to answer them.

4 REASONS TO CHOOSE AM ACADEMY

AM Academy training material

Highest quality

AM Academy offers quality education and does not compromise on quality, which is why we have no intensive quick fixes to becoming a trained therapist. Our goal is to give our students a useful and practical education and the best qualifications to help other people.

AM Academy Job

Good job opportunities

We can currently offer a job guarantee after graduation. With our many years in the industry and a well-established reputation, we experience high demand for therapists who have trained with us. We are also happy to help you achieve your dreams of becoming self-employed.

AM Academy students

Small teams

We have a maximum of 12 students per class. Classes are not made larger than necessary to accommodate everyone’s learning paths, which we have incorporated into our teaching materials, such as videos, puzzles and memory games. We therefore also have room for students with special needs.

AM Academy diploma

RAB & VAT exemption

We have incorporated the Danish Health Authority’s lesson requirements for RAB & SKAT’s requirements for VAT exemption into our Musculupat training. We also offer RAB lessons to students from outside.

How do you become a RAB?

AM Academy helps you get an overview of rules, education requirements, etc. RAB & VAT exemption. The rules are not exactly the same for RAB and VAT exemption, but they have many similarities and are therefore often confused. There are no official requirements on what it basically takes to be and become a massage therapist. Likewise, the title “masseur” is not protected. This can make it difficult for potential clients to identify skilled massage therapists and find high-quality massage/treatment.
