The journey back from cancer can be an incredibly challenging experience. Research shows that many cancer patients experience a significant positive effect from receiving massage. During cancer treatment, you can experience a number of side effects such as stress, depression, fatigue and pain, and massage can play a crucial role in significantly reducing these symptoms. <\/p>\n

The Danish Cancer Society recommends massage for patients, but emphasizes the importance of finding a massage therapist specifically trained to handle these vulnerable clients with care and respect. In our course, you will gain in-depth knowledge about different types of cancer, treatment methods, side effects and course. You will also learn about the specific indications and contraindications for massage for cancer patients. <\/p>\n

In addition, we will delve into the theory of scar tissue, lymphedema and skin sensitivity in patients with cancer. We will explore where the patient is in their journey and what their unique needs are. <\/p>\n

After the theoretical training, we will practice different types of scar tissue massage as well as general massage adapted to the specific needs of cancer patients.<\/p>\n

    In the course you have 2 teachers:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    First, Helen Hjalmarsd\u00f3ttir Foss\u00e1, a trained nurse and licensed physiotherapist, will go through the theory of cancer. Helen has worked as a cancer nurse for many years and has extensive experience with cancer. <\/p>\n

    Susan Wichmand will then take over the practical part of the course. Susan has had many cancer patients on the couch and has taken a course in cancer massage in England. <\/p>\n
