Become a Certified Sports & Injury Therapist and learn how to analyze and treat sports injuries and other injuries.

 

If you want to work in the world of sports, this is the program for you.

By taking our Sports & Injury Therapist program, you take your massage profile to the next level. In addition to regular in-depth Physiurgical massage, you will also learn about advanced muscular treatment techniques, kinesio taping, sports acupuncture and several other techniques.

The program is put together in collaboration with some of the leaders in treatment in the world of sports. The program consists of additional theory, techniques and tools that are indispensable when working with athletes. Working with sports and people in motion requires insight into fundamental human movement patterns. Of course, the program can also be used to treat all other types of people and problems.

Physiurgical massage

You’ll learn how to perform an in-depth, structured full-body massage and treat muscular problems. You’ll gain an understanding of how the body works together, how to treat it optimally and what factors influence how we feel physically.

Facial massage
You’ll learn both a relaxing, de-stressing facial massage, as well as the many points that can release tension in the face and skull.
Connective tissue massage
Connective tissue has a great influence on the musculoskeletal system, which means that it is also important to treat it to get the most out of your treatment. You will learn different techniques for this.
Vein pump massage
For fluid in the body, vein pumping massage is effective, you’ll learn simple techniques to alleviate the client’s fluid problem.
Stretching
Assisted stretching exercises you can do on your client, as well as ideas for exercises you can give them to take home.
Chair massage
Massage on a special chair that is easy to take out for e.g. company massages, as well as great techniques that can be used in other respects.
Functional Neurology
Kinesio taping
Learn to understand and use Kinesio taping, how to apply it for optimal effect.
Cupping and Gua Cha
 You will learn how to use Cupping and Gua Cha, which are effective techniques for injury treatment and recovery.
Anatomy & Physiology
Gain an understanding of the body’s basic systems and how they work, as well as knowledge of muscle structure and function. We review the muscles from surface anatomy, including muscle names, attachment and origin.
Motion analysis
The movements of the body are reviewed. How to look at a client’s movement patterns and from there plan our treatment of the given area. Functional testing of the major joints. Questioning technique for the client’s problem.
Trigger points
You’ll learn what trigger points are, the history behind them and how to work with them.
Working postures
Proper ergonomics are important to avoid injury when working as a massage therapist. We have a strong focus on our own body, so we can last a lifetime as a full-time massage therapist.
Clinic guide
What opportunities do I have after graduation? How do I start a business? How do I market myself? These questions and more are answered in this course. What does GPDR mean for a massage therapist and how to keep records.
Customer internship
The techniques learned and practiced in class on fellow students will now be tested on real clients who come to the school clinic. All treatments are performed with a supervisor present so that questions can be asked and evaluated afterwards. We also talk about ethics, customer reception and sales.
Sports injuries

Fiber tears, shoulder, leg, knee and ankle pain are some of the most common sports injuries. There are two types of sports injuries: acute injuries and overuse injuries. You will learn how to understand injuries and treat them.

Sports acupuncture

Dry needling is a form of acupuncture where you insert needles into trigger points to optimize and speed up treatment.

Treatment techniques

You will learn to understand and perform several treatment techniques, such as pulsation and stretching, in close collaboration between client and therapist.

Admission requirements

There are no entry requirements to start the program. However, if you already have a Physiotherapist or similar qualification, you can gain the same qualifications by taking our Injury Therapist course, which only includes the sports-related subjects.
